Tom Bartz, Founder/CEO

Tom Bartz led several successful retail innovations in Fortune 50 petroleum companies, including Exxon USA and British Petroleum Corporation. He spent nearly 20 years in the business, and was involved in the design and delivery of many new concepts and programs for gasoline retailing at grocery and high-volume retailers in North America. His other responsibilities included acquisition and conversion of various petroleum company assets, as well as marketing and branding. He held P&L responsibilities of $950 million dollars, and managed 1,400 employees.

Prior to forming Accelitec, Tom was chief operating officer for FiberCloud, LLC, a multi-site, Class A Internet Services Provider (ISP) based in Bellingham, Wash. In addition to daily operations of the business, he also was responsible for network infrastructure development and implementation, as well as marketing and business development.

Peter Gruman, President

Joined in 2006. Peter Gruman has 25 plus years of law and corporate and business development experience, and has been involved with startups in both low-tech and high-tech fields, as a founder, early hire and/or investor since 1993. He has also developed and managed multiple companies and acted as general counsel for most of these. Peter has created and negotiated technical transaction agreements with a number of the largest software and media companies in the United States.

Tom Ryan, Software Manager

Joined in 2004. Tom Ryan is responsible for Accelitec’s software architecture, including applications, services, middleware and database components. Tom has a deep background in middleware development, including Service Oriented Architecture and Object Oriented Analysis and Design. His ten-year experience at Microsoft included responsibility for the business objects used for credit card authorization, reconciliation and settlement process.

Emily Mallahan, VP Marketing

Joined in June, 2010. Prior to joining Accelitec, Emily was responsible for the TOP Connection program, the ground-breaking loyalty program she helped design and launch at TOP Food & Drug (a banner owned by Haggen, Inc.). She also worked in a variety of consumer marketing and merchandising programs for Haggen, Inc. She produced pioneering material for Haggen in the digital arena and is an expert in digital marketing. Emily began her career in grocery as a clerk working her way through college. With a Bachelor degree from Western Washington University in marketing, she joined Gerber Products Company, where she was involved in product development, sales and marketing. She holds an MBA from Western Washington University and is a graduate of the Executive Food Industry Management program at the Marshall College of Business at USC.

Steve Byron, VP of Sales

Steve Byron has been selling products and services his entire life. Most recently he held the sales position of Vice President for International Sales for locally owned and operated Superfeet Worldwide. Over the past ten years Steve worked with the Superfeet team to build a successful sales structure ramping up from one sales person to over thirty salespeople in three regions in the United States. Steve went on to successfully establish distribution in over 25 countries worldwide for Superfeet. Through these two strategies sales grew over 200% for Superfeet. Steve also has extensive experience in selling through reseller channels as well as directly to clients. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Washington.

Christine Schneider, Director of Business Development

Christine Schneider built her 18 year sales career as a consultative professional and customer advocate in the information technology arena. Prior to joining Accelitec, Christine launched and developed her own sales consulting business. In this role, she developed and executed strategic sales plans that generated multi-million dollar revenue streams for her clients with an average 78% increase in client sales revenue. Prior to being an entrepreneur, Christine was a Solution Sales Specialist with Teradata Corp, Retail. She sold data, analytical, marketing, customer relationship management platforms, and operational solutions that included: data warehousing and appliances hardware, software, and related tools. In this capacity Christine was able to effectively demonstrate the value propositions of these complex solutions to clients. She subsequently opened new doors and generated revenue at accounts never before penetrated. Christine’s experience also includes financial services software along with mobile and wireless technologies.

Christine holds an MBA in Information Systems and Finance from Fordham University Graduate School of Business.
